Sino-Foreign Film Co-production Forum Held During the 4th BJIFF

The Sino-Foreign Film Co-production Forum, organized by CFCC, was held successfully at Beijing Hotel on April 17, 2014 during the fourth edition of the BJIFF. Tong Gang, Vice Minister of State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, Chris Dodd, Chairman of MPAA, made official speeches at the forum. Zhang Hongsen, Director-General of Film Bureau, Luan Guozhi, Deputy Director-General and Jiao Hongfen, Chairman of China Film Group, joined the event together with over 400 industry professionals from at home and abroad.

Before the forum starts, there were signing ceremony of Chinese-French co-production film Warrior’s Gate and trailer release of The Outcast, a Chinese-French-Canadian co-production.

The panel includes Mexican director Alfonso Cuarón, American director Oliver Stone, Russian director Timur Bekmambetov, French performing artist Jean Reno, Chinese director Ning Ying, Frederick Huntsberry, COO of Paramount Pictures, UK film producer Pete Czerin, and Ye Ning, Vice Chairman of Wanda Cultural Industry Group. Focusing on “the localization of international co-production”, the panel discussion featured policy interpretation, localization of cross-cultural cooperation and co-production case study, in the hope of exploring a more diversified and in-depth mechanism of Chinese-foreign film co-production and resource sharing.
